Sheeran’s latest album, Divide, hit the charts in March, soaring to the number one spot on the Billboard 200 almost immediately after its release. Additionally, the record ranked first in a number of other countries, including Australia, Brazil, Germany, Italy, Poland, and Spain. Divide also topped the chart in his native U.K., with its lead single “Shape Of You” dominating the charts for 14 weeks. On Saturday, Sheeran confirmed the release of his fourth single, “Perfect,” on Instagram. “Perfect will be the next single from ÷ it’s the song I’m most proud of from this album,” he wrote.

Prior to the performance, Sheeran sat down with the “Good Morning America” panel to talk about his double-platinum album, which has been streamed more than half a billion times since its debut earlier this year. On his major and unexpected global success, the British superstar said, “I didn’t see having success out of England as an option. I never expected it. It’s all a bit ridiculous.” He went on, “All the things that have been happening, I didn’t expect to happen. It’s all unbelievable, you can’t really take it in.”

As Gossip Cop reported, Sheeran announced his 2017 Divide tour on the “Today” show earlier this year. The singer kicked off the tour in March, spending the spring in Europe and Latin America. He began the U.S. leg of his world tour in June, and is set to round off his time in the States with one final performance at the Bridgestone Arena in Tennessee, Nashville next month.
